About you:
As sous chef, you will thrive in a face-paced kitchen environment and be experienced in a similar role. You should have a passion for creating exceptional dishes and take pride in delivering top-notch culinary experiences to guests. You will be second in charge of the head chef, so leadership skills are a must.
Previous experience in a similar role is required here, we need you to have a sound understanding of how a professional kitchen works.

This job role is based at The Chequers Inn, Rookley. A large family orientated pub in the heart of the country side.

Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing the culinary operations at the pub.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and execute menus that align with the pub's concept and customer preferences.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring efficient and smooth operations.
- Ensure food quality, presentation, and portion control are consistently maintained.
- Assist in managing inventory, controlling costs, and implementing food safety standards.
- Support the Head Chef in creating a positive and productive work environment.
- Step in and assume the Head Chef's responsibilities in their absence.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Relevant culinary qualifications preferred.
