Jason & Ali Hawkes are the owners of The Dell, Beach Bar Kitchen. In their journey they have taken experiences and influences from a vast array of different cultures from around the world which serves a brilliant presence across our drinks and food menus for being something truly different and unique. The Dell has been in the Family for multiple generations and is something that serves as great passion for the family, there isn’t a day that passes where you won’t find Jason or Alison in the thick of it alongside everyone else. They have also managed to achieve The Dell being one of the top 10 Beachside Bistro Restaurants in the UK. 

Our Team of talented chefs led by our Head Chef, Elliott Sturgess goal is to provide top quality food served with efficiency, keen eye for detail and modern flare. Elliott has a strong history in some of the UK’s top restaurants from Multiple Michelin Star to being part of the team that achieved the highest rosette ratings to date and multiple UK wide Accolades at The Royal Hotel, Ventnor. And part of the team that Achieved a Rosette & Multiple Accolades at The Three Buoys. This is a great opportunity for any chef to expand upon and learn to take their craft further. 

The Role:

We are recruiting an experienced chef to work within our kitchen team, this is an exciting opportunity for any young aspiring or seasoned professional chef to jump on board. 

Our food is of a Pan Asian influence with Modern British techniques and other multicultural influences. It will be your duty to uphold a good sense of urgency, cleanliness, attention to detail and modern flare. Experience in Asian Food, fine dining or modern British isn’t required but a passion for learning is. 

Key Responsibilities, but not limited to:

- Being Punctual with good personal & food Hygiene.

- Being able to run a section of the kitchen unsupervised and in the absence of the Head Chef.

- A Full understanding of Section of the kitchen that’s required.

- Coming up with fresh ideas for specials.

- Working closely with other Chefs to develop new recipes and Menus.

- Checking deliveries to make sure all food products are up to standard.

- Making sure all products used are up to standard.

- Keeping to the HACCAP, COSH, Safer Foods & Better Business guidelines and filing paperwork. 

- Being driven with a positive attitude.

- Being able to thrive under pressure.

- Good ability in prioritising workload.

- Respecting all members of staff and working with the front of house to create food/drink synergies.

- Greeting all our customers that are within speaking distance and treating them with politness.
