About Us:

We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Executive Head Chef to lead our culinary team and elevate our kitchen to new heights, our restaurants include The Chequers, The Birdham and the The White Lion Niton.

Job Overview:

As the Executive Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our kitchen operations, including menu development, food preparation, staff management, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety. You will work closely with our management team to create a unique and exciting dining experience that reflects our brand’s vision and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design seasonal menus that showcase creativity and quality.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality, presentation, and flavor.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and cost control to maintain food cost and profitability.
  • Oversee food safety and sanitation practices to comply with health regulations.
  • Collaborate with management to create and implement promotional events and special menus.
  • Maintain relationships with local suppliers and farmers to source high-quality ingredients.
  • Stay current with culinary trends and techniques, incorporating them into our offerings.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef or in a similar leadership role in a high-volume kitchen.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, cuisines, and food safety standards.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Creative flair and passion for culinary arts.
  • Experience with menu costing and inventory management.
