Office Assistant Apprentice – The Island Holiday Company:

The Island Holiday Company, an independent holiday letting business, based locally on the Isle of Wight is looking to add an Office Assistant to their growing team. Offering high quality, self-catering accommodation in multiple locations across the Island, the Island Holiday Company provides the chance for holiday makers to be able visit and experience award winning beaches, historic villages and everything else that the Isle of Wight has to offer.

This position will be based around the apprenticeship standard but will include a variety of duties, with plenty of room for future career progression within the business. No experience is necessary as you will be provided with thorough training throughout the entire Apprenticeship which will enable you to build on your knowledge and skills to be successful in this role.

Duties/Responsibilities:

The following are the core responsibilities of this job role and what you will be working toward being able to do, by the end of the Apprenticeship you should be proficient in all of these, occasionally you may be required to carry out other tasks dependant on factors such as workload and staffing levels:

  • Processing Bookings and ensuring everything is logged correctly
  • Handling payments from customers
  • Processing the booking of ferry transport for clients
  • Answering inbound telephone calls and action these independently
  • Liaising with Clients and Guests to ensure a happy duration of stay
  • Use of email communication internally and externally
  • Working with customers & suppliers internally and externally
  • Use relevant software along with Microsoft Office
  • Carry out general office duties such as printing, word processing, filing and ensuring the office is tidy and welcoming.
  • Helping to set up new properties coming into the business
  • Getting involved with the company social media accounts
  • Be a proactive member of the team, developing and promoting ideas of ways to improve the operation of the company
  • Checking that properties have been loaded correctly and are displayed correctly on affiliate sites

Training Provided:

The successful candidate will be working towards the Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship.

Off the job training will be provided, where you will have the time to complete your portfolio work, attend off job training seminars and have allocated time for mentoring and being shadowed.

Hourly Wage:

Minimum Wage for Age

30+ Hours a week
