We’re looking for a Parish Clerk, Responsible Financial Officer and Registrar of Burials to support the Council’s work and keep things running smoothly in our vibrant parish. 10 hours per week | Work from home | Monthly evening meetings required Start date: TBC | Salary: £15.84–£17.29/hr (SCP 18–23, NJC scale) This is a rewarding and varied role at the heart of local government. In this role you’ll provide administrative and financial support to the Council, help deliver key services, and ensure legal and procedural duties are met.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Responsibility for agendas and minutes for Council meetings
- Proactively managing council finances
- Effective Communication with councillors, residents, and local authorities
- Ensuring that the website and noticeboard are kept up to date
- Helping the council to stay efficient and responsive We are looking for:
- An experienced and enthusiastic individual
- Excellent organisational and financial skills
- A confident communicator with a proactive approach
- Ideally, you’ll hold the Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA), or be prepared to train for it and maybe CIPFA/ACCA or equivalent
The role would suit an experienced Clerk looking for a new challenge or adding a further council to their portfolio, or somebody with public sector experience, downsizing and looking for a new challenge. You’ll need to be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and genuinely interested in supporting our parish and residents.
