Vacancy Details
Whitefield Tax is an Isle of Wight based Accountancy and Tax practice, with clients both locally and across the UK, encompassing our daughter business YogaTax, the UKs only specialised accountant for the Yoga sector.
We have a vacancy for a Tax Technician to join our busy professional services team.
Key skills and experience would encompass:
- Taxation experience in a Practice environment
- Understanding of the UK Tax system for Individuals, Partnerships and companies
- Understanding of Income Tax, NI, Corporation Tax, VAT, CIS and PAYE
- A basic knowledge of Capital Taxes, principally CGT.
- Confidence in communicating with clients to clear queries and offer first line support and advice, whilst representing the practice professionally
- A “can do” and flexible approach to meet the variety of differing challenges presented by our clients
Duties will include:
- Preparing Self Assessment and Corporation Tax returns
- Clearing queries and matters arising
- Day to day advice to clients around Tax and VAT
- Payroll and CIS work
- Ad hoc project based work dependant on client needs
Our offices are based in Brading.
This role could be full time or part time. We are flexible about how core ours are delivered, and whilst some work will need to be office based we envisage a substantial part of the time being home based – it is therefore important that applicants are used to home working. Hours can be flexed around care responsibilities.
We welcome returners to the workforce after a period away, and can assist in updating previous skills and knowledge.
Remuneration up to £33k per annum. 20 days annual leave (pro rata to part time hours) + statutory holidays + Christmas office closure + your birthday. Annual leave increases by 1 day a year up to 5 extra days.
Applications by CV. If you would like an informal discussion around the role, please email our MD Jessica Garbett – [email protected]
The vacancy closes 30 November 2025 but may be closed earlier at our discretion.
