Contract Term: 12-15 months maternity cover / 12-14 hours per week (hours can be over 2 or 3 days of Mon, Tues, Thurs but must include a Thursday)

Location: Langbridge 

The Garlic Farm in Newchurch is a popular Island food business with very active ecommerce and wholesale departments, selling our garlic products to customers all over the UK. Our small team is friendly, welcoming, committed and hard-working.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, pro-active and industrious person who is, at least, AAT level 3 qualified to join our small Finance Team for a period of maternity cover, within our Langbridge office, just a short distance from The Garlic Farm’s main site. The responsibilities below could relate to any of our 4 companies. 

Key responsibilities could include, but not limited to:

·         Sales ledger - raising service and company recharge invoices

·         Process & reconcile Shopify and subsequent deferred income and paypal accounts

·         Manage & reconcile fixed asset register & process depreciation

·         Process accruals and prepayments and reconcile the accounts

·         Process recharges, both within the company and across to sister companies

·         Other balance sheet reconciliations

·         Assist with VAT returns

·         Assisting with preparing accounts for Wild Island and Little Mersley

·         Preparing and posting journals

·         Archiving & help transfer to completely paperless system

·         General finance duties as they arise

Key skills and experience:

·         AAT Level 3 qualified

·         Previous experience within a Finance Assistant/ Assistant Management Accountant role

·         Previous experience with Sage 50

·         Strong attention to detail

·         Highly organised and self-sufficient

·         Excellent Excel skills and strong IT literacy

·         Available from beginning of June 2025 at the latest

·         Be able to work 3 days a week across Monday – Thursday, but must be able to work on Thursdays.
