Contract Type: Permanent – Variable hours on Rota Basis
Salary: Up to £13.50 per hour plus benefits, based upon experience
Role Purpose:
To provide high-quality cleaning services across communal areas of residential and commercial buildings managed by the ERMC Estates Team. The role also includes external cleaning duties such as window cleaning and general upkeep of building exteriors. Based on the Isle of Wight and South Coast area, the role requires regular travel between multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily and periodic cleaning of internal communal areas including lobbies, stairwells, corridors, lifts, and shared facilities.
- Carry out external cleaning tasks such as window cleaning, pressure washing, and litter picking around building exteriors.
- Conduct basic weekly fire alarm checks and record findings in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure all cleaning and inspection duties are completed to a high standard in line with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Identify and report any maintenance issues or hazards encountered during duties.
- Maintain cleaning equipment and ensure adequate stock of cleaning materials.
- Support the Estates Team with additional duties as required, including minor facilities support.
- Travel between various sites across the Isle of Wight and South Coast region as part of regular duties.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Previous experience in residential or commercial cleaning.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Familiarity with cleaning products, tools, and safe handling procedures.
- Willingness and ability to travel between multiple sites.
- Comfortable working at height for external window cleaning (training provided if necessary).
- Ability to carry out basic fire alarm checks (training will be provided).
- Good communication skills and a professional, courteous manner.
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks.
Desirable:
- Experience in external cleaning or window cleaning.
- Basic knowledge of COSHH and Health & Safety practices.
- Full UK driving licence.
Working Hours:
Weekdays and Weekends on a Rota Basis
