Pharmacy Dispenser
Location: Gibbs & Gurnell Pharmacy, Ryde
Hours: 32 hours per week
Availability: Monday to Saturday
Holiday: 5.6 weeks per year
Starting pay: £12.71 per hour
Performance bonus: Up to 12% additional monthly pay
The base hourly rate may be increased depending on experience, qualifications and demonstrated ability.
About the Role
Gibbs & Gurnell Pharmacy is looking for a reliable, capable and motivated person to join our dispensary team.
Previous pharmacy or dispensing experience is an advantage but is not essential. We are happy to train an exceptional candidate who demonstrates strong literacy and numeracy skills, attention to detail, a positive attitude and the ability to learn quickly.

Pay and Benefits
In addition to the base hourly rate, employees may earn up to 12% additional monthly pay through our performance-based bonus scheme.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be trained and supported to:
- Prepare and label prescriptions accurately.
- Select and assemble medicines safely.
- Manage prescription collections, owing medicines and stock.
- Assist patients in person and by telephone.
- Maintain accurate records and patient confidentiality.
- Follow pharmacy procedures and support an efficient dispensary.
- Work effectively with the wider pharmacy team.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a good standard of education.
- Be accurate, organised and dependable.
- Communicate professionally with patients and colleagues.
- Work well within a busy team.
- Take pride in producing consistently high-quality work.
- Be willing to learn, develop and take responsibility.
- Be available to work across Monday to Saturday.
A recognised dispensing qualification is beneficial but not required. Appropriate training may be provided to the right candidate.
Eligible employees will receive training and support to complete Gibbs & Gurnell’s internal checking programme within their first 12 months.
