The Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary is seeking a dedicated Visitor Operations Manager to join our team and help us provide exceptional experiences for our visitors. In this role, you'll oversee daily operations, ensuring that every visitor enjoys a memorable and educational visit.

You'll work in a beautiful, tranquil environment, surrounded by nature and the gentle companionship of our donkeys. If you have strong organisational skills, a love for animals, and a desire to make a positive impact, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management; Lead, mentor and inspire your diverse team of staff employees and volunteers. Foster a positive, collaborative and rewarding work environment.

Operations; Oversee daily operations of our welcome hub, shop, café and tours. Act as the main Duty Manager responsible for the safe operation of all customer facing areas.

Customer Experience; deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring team members are sharing their knowledge, passion and enthusiasm for the sanctuary’s great achievements.

Commercial Management: manage budgets, control costs and maximise revenue to contribute to our sustainable funding efforts to support the care and well-being of our animals.

Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience in a similar background, with a focus on customer service, operational management and commercial responsibility.
• Strong communication and organisation skills. Ability to manage irregular working patterns and activity fluctuations.
• Ability to use a full suite of Microsoft applications to aid productivity and effectiveness.
• A calm, level approach with an aptitude for resolving unexpected operational issues or emergencies.
