Service Manager - Housing
We are looking to recruit a dynamic and effective leader into the role of Service Manager for Housing, who will lead, develop and operationally manage the housing teams within the Adult Social Care and Housing Directorate.
You will take the lead on elements of the housing transformation programme and deliver responsive, effective and safe services for housing that best meet the needs of the individuals the service supports. Using a person-centred approach, you will work in close partnership with provider organisations to deliver a service which is consistent, meets legislative requirements, and maximises the resources available.
You will have a detailed knowledge of housing issues, as well as the national guidance and statutory requirements which surround the areas managed, alongside substantial experience of working in complex and sensitive situations, in a calm and proactive manner.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate excellent planning and organisational skills and who has previous experience of managing and delivering services, ideally within a multi-agency setting.
The successful candidate will:
- Have extensive understanding of housing, ideally relating to homelessness or housing renewal.
- Hold a Degree in Housing related area or equivalent.
- Attend the Leadership Group meetings, playing a full and active role in the corporate leadership, the management of the department and wider Council.
- Ensure policies and procedures are compliant, delivering a consistent and lawful application of policy into service delivery.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to build relationships with colleagues, partners and customers at all levels.
- Be able to manage change and enhance organisational performance by leading, managing and supporting improvements to services and processes.
