About the Role

The Planning & S&OP Manager plays a pivotal role at Isle of Wight Tomatoes, sitting at the centre of the business to ensure that commercial ambition, operational capability, and daily execution remain fully aligned.

This role combines long-term demand forecasting with day-to-day operational planning, ensuring customer demand is translated into clear and achievable plans across growing, packing, and logistics.

Acting as a central connector across departments, you will ensure information flows clearly, decisions are aligned, and teams work together seamlessly. The role requires someone comfortable moving between strategic planning, operational decision-making, and hands-on system management.

You will lead the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring the business maintains a single aligned operational plan that balances customer demand, crop availability, and operational capacity.

This is a crucial leadership role in maintaining the rhythm of the business within a fast-moving fresh produce environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Own demand forecasting and work closely with Commercial to understand customer demand, promotions, and volume trends.
• Lead the S&OP process, aligning demand, crop availability, operational capacity, and customer commitments.
• Translate forecasts into operational plans across growing, packing, and logistics.
• Manage stock allocation across customer channels to maximise product utilisation while maintaining service levels and minimising waste.
• Drive planning accuracy and insight through effective use of the bespoke MRP system, reporting, and data analysis.
• Lead and develop the planning team while acting as the central link between Commercial, Growing, Packing, and Logistics.

Key Skills & Experience

• Experience in a Planning Manager, S&OP Manager, Demand Planning Manager, or similar role.
• Background within FMCG, fresh produce, food manufacturing, or another perishable product environment.
• Strong demand forecasting and data analysis capability.
• Experience working with MRP or ERP systems (experience with bespoke systems is beneficial).
• Ability to analyse sales data, identify trends, and challenge assumptions.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience managing and developing people.
• Highly organised and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
