Do you want to have a once in a career opportunity to support the set-up of a brand-new School Improvement service within the new Children’s Services Directorate at the Isle of Wight Council?

You will lead governance across the Isle of Wight school system and be a key part of the approach to school improvement.
What will you be doing?
- Responsibility for improving the governance of our schools so that all children and young people across the Island, thrive.
- Develop our SLA offer and traded service, including a clerking service.
- Coordinator and deliver training to improve governance across the Island.
- Take responsibility for developing and monitoring service planning, including KPI’s.
- Represent the department within the various meetings and partnerships.
- Work with senior colleagues to drive forward the Education Strategy.
- Improve the governance across the school system on the Isle of Wight.
- Be an integral part of our school improvement team, working together to improve our education system.
About you
- Experience of school governance and ultimately leading governance.
- Experience of working for a Local Authority or Multi Academy Trust.
- Able to work as part of a team, taking responsibility for areas they lead on.
- Ability to access face to face meetings locally.
- High quality verbal and written communication skills.
- A commitment to ensuring children and young people across the Isle of Wight achieve their best outcomes and develop into independent adults.
