The Terrace is a Michelin, AA and Good Food Guided-listed restaurant in Yarmouth Harbour overlooking the sea. We pride ourselves on high quality food and service and are open all year round, seven days in summer, five in winter.
With winter approaching and many of our team heading off to university we are keen to hire a new Front of House Team Member to work with us year round managing shifts and team members. We offer generous tips, a highly professional working environment and a career plan for every team member. Over the off-season we will develop the right person to become a full-fledged shift manager, able to run the entire restaurant on-shift.

Duties:
Manage guest experience in the restaurant taking order, making drinks, serving food and clearing efficiently and effortlessly
Delight our guests – show warmth, interest and efficiency to ensue every guest has the perfect experience
Read tables and understand how they are feeling and act accordingly
Understand our food, wine and service offering until you feel comfortable taking ownership of shifts.
Handle customer inquiries and feedback in a timely and satisfactory manner.
Obvserve health and safety regulations to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Oversee daily restaurant operations, customer service, and staff management.
Train to become a shift manager over the winter season understanding everything that happens in a service and how to manage it with confidence
About you:
- Previous experience in a restaurant or pub but this doesn't need to be at management level
- Proven reliability
- A flexible mindset and an understanding that hospitality can never be a 9-5pm job but is hugely rewarding in other ways
- A desire to learn and develop as a hospitality professional.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers, staff, and suppliers.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations while maintaining composure and professionalism
- Strong ability to see issues as learning opportunities and to strive for a culture of constant improvement
- Strong problem-solving skills to address issues promptly and find effective solutions
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
