Whitefield Tax is an Isle of Wight based Accountancy and Tax practice, with clients both locally and across the UK, encompassing our daughter business YogaTax, the Uks only specialised accountant for the Yoga and Pilates sector.

We have a vacancy for an Accountancy Manager to lead in the delivery of Professional Services to our Clients.

Duties will include:

• Leading on a mixed portfolio of business clients
• Preparing and finalising clients’ accounts
• Meeting with clients, in person, by phone or online
• Day to day advice to clients around accounting, taxation and business issues
• Ad hoc project based work dependant on client needs
• Contributing to the practice leadership

Key skills and experience would encompass:

• Senior level experience in a practice environment
• Experience of preparing, reviewing and finalising annual accounts for small businesses
• Understanding of Income Tax Self Assessment, Corporation Tax, PAYE and VAT as they apply to small businesses, along with the regulatory structure for UK small business
• Experience of Company Secretarial work and Companies House filing
• Experience of systems like FreeAgent, Quickbooks and Sage
• Strong experience of Excel and similar products
• An awareness of the role of ledger based Accounts Production Software (practice uses TaxCalc but other skills like IRIS should be transferrable)
• Confidence in communicating with clients to offer advice and support, whilst representing the practice professionally
• A “can do” and flexible approach to meet the variety of differing challenges presented by our clients

This role could have a pathway to partner / director for a suitable individual.

Our offices are based in Brading.

This role could be full time or part time.  We are flexible about how core ours are delivered, and whilst some work will need to be office based we envisage a substantial part of the time being home based – it is therefore important that applicants are used to home working.  Hours can be flexed around care responsibilities. 

We welcome returners to the workforce after a period away, and can assist in updating previous skills and knowledge.

Remuneration up to £50k per annum.   20 days annual leave (pro rata to part time hours) + statutory holidays + Christmas office closure + your birthday.   Annual leave increases by 1 day a year up to 5 extra days.
