Job Summary
This role is to be offered on an initial 12 month fixed term contract basis
Working in our busy Logistics Department, and reporting into one of our Logistics Team Leaders, the main focus of this role will be “internal transport and stores”. Therefore a current clean driving licence is essential.
Applicants who have a B1 forklift licence will be of particular interest, however this is more of a "nice to have" and training will be provided.
This is going to be a physically demanding role, so applicants will need to be capable of undertaking this type of work
Availability to start at short notice will be advantageous.
Job Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities of our Materials Handlers include:
- Managing inbound and outbound material flow
- Receiving and storing inbound deliveries
- Creating fix bin locations
- Tracking product availability
- Picking, packing product for delivery
- Processing returns
- Performing reverse logistics
- Performing salvage activities
- Locating stock
- Preparing stock for movement
- Physically moving stock
- Physically moving parts/job cards/Calibration product/indirect goods (around and between our two sites)
- Maintaining inventory status
- Performing physical inventory procedures
- Maintaining Dept KPI’s
- Complete Internal transport Request calls
- Problem solving and Kaizens
- Maintain H&S
- Complete training
Job Qualifications
Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate:
- Previous experience working in a similar role;
- Physically fit and capable of undertaking this type of work;
- Willingness and ability to undertake shift work when required;
- Current clean driving licence
- B1 Forklift or Crane sling licence would be advantageous, but not essential;
- Eligibility to work in the UK
