This role will be responsible for all despatch of finished goods from the business to final customer, utilising our own fleet and third-party hauliers. This new role will suit someone who brings a confident, positive energy and an innate ability to handle a fast-paced flexible environment. You will be able to support your team with strong communication and leadership skills. 

A bit about us

ZERO WASTE - We're working to become a zero-waste business, incorporating sustainable energy, recyclable packaging and zero produce to landfill. Through culinary craft and manufacturing innovation, we're creating a host of new chilled and ambient products to take care of every tomato.

SMART ENERGY - Our farm is powered sustainably, harnessing the waste heat and carbon dioxide generated by the Isle of Wight's power supply, plus renewable solar energy from our adjacent solar field. We irrigate our crop with harvested rainwater, stored in our on-site reservoirs, and we use focused LEDs to encourage photosynthesis without wasting light energy.

SOIL HEALTH - We grow both organically and conventionally, a twin strategy in which our conventional coconut-based growing substrate is composted to feed our organic soil. This perfectly circular and sustainable system results in zero waste to landfill, no requirement for bought-in compost, and soil that gets healthier every year.

TOMORROW’S TASTES - We believe food security relies on fast, local supply, and are proud that our tomatoes are enjoyed across the UK just hours after picking. We grow and trial more varieties than anyone else, continually creating produce that can meet a whole host of culinary needs, while delivering great taste.

Key accountabilities & Responsibilities

• Responsible for the efficient and safe execution of loading all outbound orders through the despatch department.
• Manage and prioritise the active and variable workload to ensure efficient execution of the despatch plan.
• Check, review, maintain and use documentation for all aspects of the job as expected.
• Ensure that staff training, and development is fulfilled, and monitor staff progress through maintenance of training records.
• Ensure the work area and machinery is safe to use and free from hazards.
• Complete all works to high standards of quality whilst working within guidelines.
• Ensure Health & Safety objectives are met.
• Any other ad-hoc duties that maybe required by your Management Team.

Salary: £13.50 an hour.

Working Week:

Hours are based on a standard 44-hour week. Monday to Friday, 11am to finish (between 7.30 - 9 pm).  There is a requirement to work Saturdays on a Rota basis in season (April to October). Hours of work will be discussed in full, with suitable candidates, we will look to accommodate individual needs as much as possible.
