Vectawave Technology Ltd are designers and manufacturers of Solid State RF and Microwave Amplifiers. We currently have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as an RF Test Engineer, at our site in Newport, Isle of Wight.
This role is offered on a full time, permanent basis in return for a competitive salary.
For this role you will need demonstrable experience as a Test Engineer within an RF/electrical/electronic manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on role which will require you to work on a mixture of RF and Microwave products from sub-assemblies, modules, amplifiers and systems. You will be responsible for ensuring our products and systems are tested in accordance with approved procedures and documentation, within schedules and to quality standards.
Reporting to the Test Manager, the role will involve:
Comprehensive testing of RF and Microwave sub-assemblies, modules and complete amplifiers, both single unit and systems.
Diagnosing faults, repairing to component level, modifying and upgrading modules, sub-assemblies and complete systems
Recording and maintaining test result integrity by serial number, validating the test records by checking any formal release, documenting test variations and non-conformance
Providing after sales support to Partners and Customers
Creation/development of test methods and other documentation
Following equipment and personnel safety requirements applicable to the product under test (e.g. test equipment suitability, anti-static precautions)
Carry out other production test tasks as instructed by the Test Manager
As an RF Test Engineer, you should have:
Minimum of an HND/HNC in Electronic Engineering or equivalent
An excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Effective communications skills both written and verbal
The ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics
Have a good working knowledge of current and common microwave test equipment and an understanding of common types of Test Strategy
Have proven problem-solving methodologies
Computer literate with good IT skills, particularly using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
