IT Technician

Job Description

Provide IT support for the company. Manage hardware, office and production equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Manages all office equipment (laptops, phones, scanners). Sets up new laptops and phones, monitors demand for equipment for new starters and work trials
  • Responsible for repairs and maintenance of office equipment
  • Manages all production IT equipment ensuring there are enough spares to prevent production downtime
  • Responsible for security of hardware and software, including spares
  • Maintains an up to date register of all equipment and labels all equipment to correspond with Finance’s fixed asset register.
  • Raise purchase orders for the purchase of equipment.
  • Management of phone and internet contracts in conjunction with the buying team.
  • Assists with server maintenance.
  • Quarterly audit and service check of all devices.
  • Provide IT support for all users.
  • Maintain an up to date buying list of standard office equipment
  • Build, configure, and test hardware terminals for customer use.
  • Oversee and maintain stock levels for PODOS hardware components, including ordering, tracking, and replenishment.
  • Prepare and dispatch hardware kits in line with customer orders and deployment schedules.
  • Provide hands-on support for hardware installations at new customer factory locations.
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues and provide first-line support, escalating where necessary.
  • Maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for hardware assembly and configuration.
  • Manage returns, repairs, and replacements of faulty hardware.

Qualifications

  • Level 3, A-level or equivalent

Competencies

  • Foundational understanding of individual computer components (what works together, what doesn’t).
  • Good problem solving skills and use of initiative.
  • Foundational understanding of common windows/MacOS issues and how to troubleshoot.

  • 1 year experience in similar role
