Yokogawa Marex has an exciting opportunity for an experienced software developer with a strong track record of software development in C++.
Reporting to Software Development Manager, as an experienced software developer in our software development team, you will have a Bachelor level degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar with 5+ years of work experience in a software development environment as a software developer in C++.
You will be developing Microsoft Windows based information systems and applications and be responsible for the design and implementation of complex software components with adherence to quality processes that lead to the delivery of high-quality software applications and solutions that satisfy customer requirements.
You will have a strong technical background and understanding of the software development cycle with experience in design, implementation and test.

As a Software Developer you will:
- Create and review requirements, functional and design specifications, for the development of complex software solutions.
- Work closely with the project manager to create and execute software development projects delivering high quality products
- Develop, modify and review software components, adhering to quality standards in line with requirement, functional and design specifications.
- Plan, design and develop white box tests (including automated unit tests) to meet quality metrics.
- Diagnose and assist the support team to resolve software issues including usability, configuration and coding.
- Optimise the use of technology in the development of software solutions.
- Lead technical teams, and mentor team members.
- Produce estimates and development architectures for inclusion in proposals.
We are looking for a colleague with:
- Bachelor level degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar with 5+ years of work experience in a software development environment as a software developer.
- Experience in the development of complex software components in C++.
- Experience in the creation of Software Functional and Design Specifications.
- Experience in software testing, release and maintenance.
- Experience of planning and execution of development projects including estimation, risk management and time management
- Experience of team leadership including the development of team members.
- Experience of working within a structured quality system with knowledge of structured software development methods and processes.
- Enthusiasm, excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), be customer focused, thrive on problem solving, have the desire for continuous quality improvement and be a team player.
- Working Knowledge of Windows and Office.
Desirable but not essential:
- Experience of software development in the Microsoft IDE, DevOps and TFS.
- Experience of development in the Microsoft Stack including .NET.
- Experience in the latest C++ 2017 standards.
- Experience of SQL databases (e.g. MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle).
- Experience of JSON, OData, and cloud technologies.
- Production of requirements specifications.
- Awareness of technology and software trends that may have an impact of the production, testing and delivery of software packages.
