About the Role:

Due to the retirement of the exisiting postholder, we are looking to appoint a new Senior HR Advisor.  In this role you will be pivotal in enhancing our staff development and HR initiatives. You will lead employee relations cases with sensitivity and expertise, ensuring fair and compliant resolutions.  You will support the promotion of a culture of continuous learning and development.

You will also be responsible for developing and implementing HR policies and procedures, designing and delivering management development training programs, and leading the organisation, planning, and management of our staff development and corporate induction days.

  • Provide professional HR support to the College, ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures.
  • Deliver timely and responsive HR services, particularly in employee relations and resourcing.
  • Advise managers on HR issues, including sickness absence and employment law.
  • Lead HR initiatives across workforce planning, restructuring, talent management, and more.
  • Support job evaluation exercises and enhance employee engagement through feedback and surveys.
  • Deputise for the Head of HR on day-to-day matters and support staff development initiatives.

About You:

You are a CIPD Level 7 qualified HR professional with experience in HR policy development, employee relations, and staff development, or have equivalent recognised HR generalist experience at a senior level.   You have excellent communication and analytical skills, and you thrive in a fast-paced environment. You are proactive, self-motivated, and committed to promoting equality, diversity, and safeguarding. 

You possess a can-do attitude with the ability to remain calm under pressure and when supporting managers and employees with the resolution of differences. 

You are flexible, adaptable, and able to work autonomously as well as part of a team. Your highly developed communication skills enable you to convey complex information effectively, and you have a knack for building strong partnerships and working relationship
