The People and Culture team at Ryde House Group are focused on creating a positive workplace culture that aligns with our vision, mission and values.
We are recruiting a People and Culture Assistant to help us drive this positive workplace culture by taking an active interest in the people we work with, whilst demonstrating outstanding practices and maintaining compliance.
Insight and experience into HR would be advantageous, however skills such as resourcefulness, adaptability, and communication are equally important. Attention to detail is key for the role, but equally important is the ability to step back and think big picture. The role requires a lot of balance between being proactive in your approach to scheduled tasks, but also reactive to upcoming tasks and unexpected hurdles.
The role is highly people-oriented with a strong emphasis on communication through email, phone and face-to-face interactions. As with all jobs, there are big projects and small tasks, but our approach is the same to all - if something is worth doing, it’s worth doing right. A few key responsibilities of the role include:
Supporting staff with queries and requests
- Recruitment and HR compliance
- Conducting mentor reviews with new starters
- Media and communications (internal and external)
- Driving employee retention
- Assisting with minute taking
- Events organisation
We have a range of software and systems that support us in our day-to-day such as Slack, Wrike and Google Workspace, so a tech savvy mind and approach will really help in this role.
The current working hours are between 35 to 40 per week (dependent on the needs of the service). The current work pattern is 9am to 4pm, with additional hours worked flexibility on either side. Salary is competitive and dependent on experience.
As well as job fulfilment and playing a key part in the journey of the individuals we support, we also offer additional employee incentives including:
- Fun days and Annual Staff Awards events.
- Employee reward scheme
- Birthday, Christmas, Easter and ‘just because’ gifts.
- A company issued MacBook.
- Discounted gym membership.
- Mental health wellbeing support.
- Paid in-house training plus further learning and development opportunities.
- Competitive salaried pay with paid sick leave.
- 5.6 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays, which increases with length of service.
- Blue Light Card eligibility and we reimburse the cost
- We promote from within so this role could just be the beginning.
