HGV Class 2 Driver – Removals

Lee Atkins Removals is a family-run removal and storage company based in Newport on the Isle of Wight. We are looking for a reliable and experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team, carrying out removals both on the Island and throughout the UK.

This isn't simply a driving job. You'll be an important part of our removals team and will be dealing directly with our customers and their belongings, so we're looking for someone who takes pride in their work and looks after our customers' possessions and our vehicles as if they were their own.

The Role

You'll be responsible for driving our removal vehicles and working alongside the crew to complete household and business removals. This includes packing where required, loading and unloading, protecting customers' belongings and helping with dismantling and reassembling furniture.

Our work takes us across the Isle of Wight and mainland UK, with occasional European work. Some nights away will be required, so you'll need to be flexible with working hours when necessary.

As the driver, you'll also be responsible for your vehicle, including daily checks, reporting defects, keeping it clean and presentable, securing loads correctly and ensuring driving and tachograph regulations are followed.

What We're Looking For

• HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence and Driver CPC required.

• Previous HGV driving experience is preferred, ideally within removals, delivery or a similar customer-facing role.

• Applicants must be 26 years old or over to meet our company vehicle insurance requirements .

• Physically fit and willing to help with loading, unloading and general removal duties.

• Reliable, punctual and flexible, including being comfortable with occasional nights away.

• Polite and professional with customers and able to work well as part of a team.

• Someone who takes responsibility for their vehicle, crew and customers' belongings.

A valid passport is required for occasional European work, and you'll need your own transport to travel to and from our Newport depot.
