25 hours per week @£24,000 Pro rata (2 year contract)
The Music /Multi Media/Arts coordinator will play a central role in an exciting new music/music media studio and youth centre space in Sandown which will empower young people to engage in varying music genres, recording, podcast and filmmaking projects within a designated space. The role will also oversee other art form-based provision in the wider youth centre space.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
There is an expectation that core delivery working hours will include evenings, school holidays and the occasional weekends.
The Postholder will be expected to lead sessions for 65% of the time with 35% of the remaining time, planning or developing sessions and production.
The postholder is expected to undertake other duties and responsibilities relevant to the post
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Experience and Skills
- Strong organisational skills, including time keeping and digital record keeping
- A personal experience of making music, either formally or informally, including recording and production of music
- Strong team-working skills, including working with different teams and organisations
- Strong communication skills, including in person and over email
- Good digital skills, including the ability to use Google Workspace apps and social media apps
- Passionate about supporting young people to access music-making, multimedia and creative activity, especially those who face barriers and challenges in their life.
- Ability to travel to the Bay area for work.
Desirable experience and skills
- Experience of working within youth work or education sector

Duties:
Delivery
- Administrate bookings and events for the music/multimedia studio and for wider centre for creative activity
- To develop and lead delivery of inclusive approaches to making and learning music for all young people, particularly those underrepresented in existing music/multimedia studio provision and to support all participants to improve their skills, develop new personal skills, and inspire them to continue to be creative in the future.
- Bring together partners and agencies working in the music, multi-media and arts worlds to broaden the range of opportunities for young people.Maintain the studio and its equipment
- Promote the project locally and through online channels
- Collect and present data about the use of the studio and outcomes achieved.
- Assess participants’ progress, giving individual feedback to participants and reporting to stakeholders in relation to musical, personal and social progress.
- Support and contribute to the wider work of the organisation.
- Be an effective learner, participating in training, professional development, and sharing expertise with others.
- Conduct any other duties which reasonably fall within the scope of the post that may be allocated after consultation with the post-holder.

- Develop effective personal time management skills, including managing stress.
