The Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our team and help us prepare quality, delicious food for our visitors.

If you love food, drinks and take great pride in how you present each dish, this role will be perfect for you. We’re looking for the right attitude, great attention to detail and desire to make a difference in our café.

We run a busy café at the Donkey Sanctuary so working weekends is a must, there’s plenty of opportunity for overtime when it gets really busy too! This role is guaranteed 16 hours a week. 

About you…

• Some experience in a similar role would be great, but we can train the right person!
• A positive, happy attitude – what’s not to love about donkeys ??
• A good understanding of food safety practices – a qualification would be great.
• Great communication skills, both spoken and written – think checklists and labelling.
• Ability to solve problems and think on your feet when things get busy – because they do!
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where efficiency matters but teamwork makes the difference.
• A team player—because we want to keep our café a happy place!
