About the Club…
Sea View Yacht Club is a thriving and vibrant yacht club based in the beautiful village of Seaview on the Isle of Wight. Established in 1893, the yacht club bursts into to life over the summer months with members traveling to the Island from across the UK to enjoy their time at the Club on & off the water.
The Club’s hospitality and events team has a passion for delivering exceptional service, working closely as a team, with knowledgeable, caring, supportive, and industry-leading management. The result is a relaxed yet professional approach to delivering one of the Island’s best venue experiences.
The Club hosts normal restaurant service alongside corporate hospitality & events. Lively parties on the Club’s staging on a summer’s evening refined a la carte dining on the Clubhouse terrace, and everything in between.
The type of crew we need…
We are looking to fill staff roles from April to September and beyond, in particular, Chef De Parties, led by experienced professional Head Chef Paul Hayward.
The right candidate(s) will be passionate about creating high-quality food for formal events, as well as be able to pivot to more casual offerings for day-to-day sailors. We need people with a positive fun attitude & who can demonstrate an ability to work successfully in a team in a busy environment.
We want to hear from experienced Chefs and those with experience in food preparation roles who can support our Head Chef Paul Hayward.
We offer flexible working hours to suit, with full-time and part-time roles available.
The Job
You’ll be a core component of a busy team, driving experience through the Club’s hospitality offering – Great Food!
The Club is becoming a destination for cuisine on the Solent and we want to keep improving that reputation.
With that in mind, no day will be the same and you’ll be doing some or all of the following:
· Supporting our Head Chef Paul Hayward in the kitchen as a key player preparing and cooking our diverse menus
· Preparing all manner of incredible, consistent food from ‘Grab and Go’ style take away options, to fresh pizza and grilled meats, through to 3-course silver service style events
· Adhering to all Health & Hygiene policies and processes, using digital food safety control systems, and completing daily checks
· Managing/assisting with stock control, ordering, and menu development subject to experience and role
· Co-ordinating with Front of House teams for smooth delivery of service

All we need is…
- A good level of food knowledge and an understanding of food preparation techniques
- Health & Hygiene Certification and other Culinary Training is desirable, but training is given as necessary in food preparation roles
- Someone committed to delivering first-class food
- A hands-on approach and the ability to work well in a team, under pressure
- Great organisational skills and the ability to multitask
- The ability to control and oversee the seasoning, portioning, and appearance of the food served
- Demonstrate and promote teamwork within the kitchen and front-of-house
- Attention to detail
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills – communication is key to a great workplace; we need positive and interested team members who will go the extra mile for their team and guests
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays – The Club is especially busy during school holidays and hazy summer evenings, and we host events and corporate bookings all year round.
