About the Role: Pastry Chef
As Pastry Chef at The Albion Hotel, you will play a key role within our kitchen brigade, responsible for delivering high-quality desserts, pastries, and baked items that reflect our standards of excellence.
Working closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team, you will help shape a dessert offering that is seasonal, creative, and consistently well executed. This is a hands-on role in a busy kitchen, ideal for someone who takes pride in precision, presentation, and flavour.
We are looking for a motivated and organised chef who is passionate about pastry and eager to contribute to a positive and ambitious kitchen environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Producing high-quality desserts, pastries, and baked goods for restaurant service
- Maintaining a consistent standard of presentation, taste, and portion control
- Running and managing the pastry section during service
- Supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef with menu development and seasonal changes
- Preparing mise en place efficiently and effectively
- Managing stock levels, rotation, and minimising waste
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene, health & safety, and cleanliness standards
- Supporting service during busy periods to ensure smooth delivery
- Contributing to a positive, respectful, and collaborative kitchen culture
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Pastry Chef or strong experience as a Chef de Partie/Commis Chef with pastry focus
- Passion for patisserie, baking, and dessert development
- Strong attention to detail and high standards of presentation
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure
- Strong team player with a positive attitude
- Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards (Level 2 Food Hygiene preferred)
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and evenings
