About Bembridge Sailing Club

Bembridge Sailing Club is a friendly and welcoming sailing club at the heart of the local sailing community. We pride ourselves on providing an enjoyable experience for members, their guests and visiting sailors, both on and off the water.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable Hospitality Supervisor to help lead our hospitality team and ensure a consistently high standard of service across the Club.

The Role

As Hospitality Supervisor, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the Club's bar, catering and hospitality operations. You will lead by example, supporting and motivating the team while ensuring that members and guests receive warm, professional and efficient service.

The role will suit someone who enjoys working with people, is organised and hands-on, and understands what makes a great hospitality experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the hospitality team during Club opening hours, events and busy sailing periods.

• Ensure excellent customer service and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for members, guests and visitors.

• Assist with the smooth running of the bar and catering operation, including opening and closing procedures.

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and food and beverage service.

• Ensure licensing, food safety, health and safety and Club procedures are followed.

• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering, deliveries and stock rotation.

• Handle cashing-up and daily financial procedures accurately.

• Deal confidently and professionally with customer queries or issues.

• Support the planning and delivery of Club functions, regattas, social events and private functions.

• Carry out other reasonable duties required to support the successful operation of the Club.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience in hospitality, ideally in a supervisory or senior position.

• Has excellent customer service and communication skills.

• Is confident supervising a team and leading by example.

• Is organised, reliable and able to remain calm during busy periods.

• Has a positive, approachable and professional manner.

• Is comfortable working independently and taking responsibility.

• Has good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness and presentation.

• Understands the importance of food hygiene, licensing and health and safety.

• Is flexible and willing to work evenings, weekends and during busy seasonal periods.

• Is a team player with a can do attitude

Hours

The role will involve a flexible working pattern, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays, particularly during the sailing season and around major Club events.
