A great opportunity has arisen at The White Hart Inn, in Havenstreet - a beautiful and traditional village pub full of character and a cosy atmosphere, conveniently located near to the Isle of Wight Steam Railway.

The White Hart Inn are looking for an Apprentice Food & Beverage Team Member.

This is an ideal position for someone leaving School or College.

As an apprentice Food & Beverage Team Member, you will take on a full-time role serving food and beverages and assisting the manager with front of house.

You will be training for the Level 2 Food & Beverage Team Member qualification with HTP Apprenticeship College.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serving of food/beverages
  • Front of house dealing and talking with customers
  • Serving all food from kitchen/bar
  • Serving cocktails, coffees & other drinks
  • Managing bookings
  • Maintaining high customer service
  • Waiting tables
  • Assisting manager with bookings, stock control
  • Maintaining health & safety communication
  • Various daily activities

Desired Skills:

We are just looking for someone with passion, personality and a desire to learn and progress in the industry.

Personal Qualities:

  • Interest in front of house/customer service
  • Confidence dealing with multiple customers
  • Keen to develop your skills in the hospitality sector
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Effective time management (organising and planning)
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow policy and procedures
  • High standards of cleanliness and hygiene
  • A flexibility to work weekends and holidays – this is a MUST in any hospitality role
  • Self-motivated and capable of working on your own and working with others
  • A flexible approach to getting any task done

Wage:

Apprenticeship wage is £8.00 for 16-18 years. Aged 18–20 (in 2nd year or beyond) is £10.85

Hours:

The working hours will be up to 40 – which includes time for completing your apprenticeship learning.

This will be based on 5 days, including some weekends. Based on a shift pattern, opening hours are 8am – 11pm.

Candidates will need to have achieved Maths and English at GCSE or equivalent grades A-C (9-4) or Level 2 functional skills in maths and English before completing the qualification. If you are under the age of 18 and do not have this, you will have to achieve this alongside the apprenticeship.
