Love hospitality? Great with people? Know how to keep smiling when the restaurant is buzzing?
We’d like to hear from you.
We’re looking for brilliant people to join our Front of House team at The Coast Bar & Dining Room in Cowes.
We’re a busy, independent, year-round restaurant and we take what we do seriously — but we don’t think great hospitality needs to be stiff, scripted or boring.
At The Coast, personality matters.
We want people who enjoy talking to guests, take pride in what they do, notice when somebody needs something and genuinely want people to have a great time.
Who are we looking for?
You might already be an experienced waiter or waitress who can confidently look after a busy section.
Or you might have less restaurant experience but plenty of personality, confidence and the right attitude — and we can teach you the rest.
For us, reliability, personality and attitude are every bit as important as experience.
You’ll need to:
-
genuinely enjoy working with people
-
be confident and friendly with guests
-
work well as part of a team
-
stay calm when things get busy
-
take pride in doing things properly
-
be happy working a mixture of shifts, including evenings and weekends
-
be able to reliably get to and from Cowes for early starts, evenings and late finishes
And we particularly like people with a bit of a “yes, we can sort that” attitude.
Location and shifts
The Coast is right in the centre of Cowes, and our shifts can include early starts, daytime service, evenings and late finishes.
You’ll need to be able to reliably get to and from Cowes for your shifts, including at times when public transport may be limited.
We have both full-time and part-time opportunities available, and hours can vary depending on your availability and the needs of the business.
What’s it like working at The Coast?
Busy.
Sometimes very busy.
There will be Saturdays when every table seems to arrive at once, somebody changes their order just as you walk away and another table suddenly decides they all want cocktails.
But there’ll also be great guests, a strong team around you and the satisfaction of being part of a restaurant that genuinely cares about hospitality.
We invest properly in training too.
You won’t simply be handed an apron and pointed towards a table. We want you to understand our food, drinks, service style and what makes great hospitality.
And if you want to progress, there are genuine opportunities to develop into senior and supervisory positions.
