Finance Manager, Ref: FM82

Hours: 21 per week (ideally 9am-5pm, Weds-Fri)

Salary: to be discussed at interview

Contract term: Permanent

Work location: Office, Newport IW PO30 1SL

Age UK Isle of Wight is an independent charity that aims to have a positive impact on the lives of islanders aged 50+, their carers and their families. We offer our employees a generous holiday entitlement, shop and gym membership discounts and (post-qualifying period) healthcare benefits.

We have a part-time vacancy for a Finance Manager, reporting to the Chief Officer.  Could you be the person we are seeking to fill this role?

You will need to have the proven experience and ability to monitor, analyse and provide timely financial information to the Chief Officer, Trustee Board and external stakeholders.  Your experience of using a variety of finance systems is important and ideally your knowledge should include the use of Xero to generate financial reports.  You should be able to work with senior staff to gain their input into compiling our annual budget whilst improving their financial awareness, knowledge and ability.  Leading year-end activity and working effectively with our external auditors to produce our report and accounts is also a key part of this role. Working closely with our Treasurer and Chair of Trustees you will ensure they always have an up-to-date picture of the charities financial position, highlighting any areas of risk or concern. Your management responsibilities will include leading our small finance team so previous management experience is essential.

We are ideally seeking someone who already holds relevant qualifications – ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA but we will consider applications from part-qualified accountants and possibly those qualified by experience.

If you think you could be our new Finance Manager, please apply now to join our team at Age UK Isle of Wight and be part of our mission to empower older individuals on the Isle of Wight to live well in later life.
