We have a very rare opportunity for an experienced Finance Assistant to join a world famous national events company that organises prestigious events all the globe.

Reporting to their Head of Finance on a full time basis you will be based at their spacious home office in Ryde which offers a fast paced, fun and frinedly working environment with all the benefits of a global business including the potential for unlimited career development opportunities. 

For this role we need an experienced Finance Assistant/Bookkeeper with a good working knowledge of accounting systems especially Sage as well as excellent Excel skills.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable
  • Checking invoices and obtaining authorisation from the correct department.
  • Entering invoices into Sage, using accurate & meaningful descriptions.
  • Processing payments.
  • Coding invoices and expenses accurately to the correct department and event.
  • Coding and checking credit card receipts and entering into Accounting System.
  • Investigate supplier queries: looking back at the records, ringing suppliers.
  • Requesting supplier invoices and other documents as and when required.

Accounts Receivables

  • Checking all invoices raised by Event Planners have been keyed into Accounting System.
  • Checking all events have been invoiced.
  • Entering sales invoices (events, commissions, ad-hoc) into Accounting System.
  • Checking all commission invoices have been raised.
  • Create commission and ad-hoc invoices whenever necessary.
  • Chasing payment for outstanding clients either via e-mail or phone.

Monthly and Yearly Tasks:

  • Creating and entering Accounting Journals into Sage.
  • Posting all cashbook entries.
  • Assist the Finance Manager with UK VAT, Foreign VAT, P11Ds, etc.
  • Assisting the Finance Manager with the Yearly Audit.

Administrative Tasks:

  • Filing and scanning invoices.

Systems used:

  • Sage 50 Cloud Accounts Professional/Online Banking/Microsoft Applications/Stripe/Pleo/PayPal

Must haves/desirables

  • Sage accounting experience would be especially advantageous
  • Proven ability to work to deadlines.
  • Proven ability to manage your own workload and be a proven ‘self-starter’.
  • Must be able to work to tight timescales, ensuring accuracy in data entry. 
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Excellent references both professional and personal.
  • Superb communication skills.
  • A warm, engaging and approachable personality.

On offer is an excellent salary of £32,000 per year plus private healthcare and a range of benefits that can be discussed on application.
