Supporting Adult Social Care and Safeguarding teams, the post will be based at Enterprise House, St Cross Business Park, Newport, Isle of Wight.      

Salary: Grade 14, £46,915 to £50,547 per annum.

Hours: 37 per week 


This is a pivotal role in the delivery of Adult Social Care within the community and operates as part of the Directorate’s Senior Leadership Team, working in partnership with CCG, Public Health, voluntary sector, private providers, the NHS, and across the wider delivery of council services.

You will be a qualified professional (Social Worker/OT/Nurse) with extensive post qualifying experience, with the skills to motivate and lead staff through change and to deliver high standards of practice to meet our challenging agendas.  This is a highly rewarding role and professional supervision will be provided to ensure you have ongoing opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills. The post holder will do this by;

  • Demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of legislation, policies and the developing   Health & Social Care priorities (e.g. the Care Act and the Better Care Fund).
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the strategic social care and public        health environment and the NHS and different branches of local and national government.
  • Extensive knowledge of current good practice standards at both local and national level.
  • Knowledge of statutory requirements, including: safeguarding, equality and anti-discrimination, maintaining a safe working environment, Data Protection and confidentiality.
