Exciting opportunity to work as part of a team to provide care and support services to customers  in accordance with regulations, promoting the highest standards of quality, efficiency and consistency, in line with SHG’s vision, values and corporate culture.

Duties to include:

Organisational responsibilities

  • At all times adhere to SHG policies and procedures, with specific reference to Confidentiality, Data Protection, Information Governance, Equal Opportunities and Diversity, Health and Safety and Lone Working.
  • Attend learning and development events
  • Keep up to date with current practice within the service area
  • Follow all steps outlined in individual and environmental risk assessments, as appropriate
  • Follow the Local Authority Adult and Children Safeguarding Procedure in conjunction with SHG policies and procedures

Customer Services

  • Provide care and support to customers as identified in their person centred care plan or Personal Budget agreement. This may include some intimate personal care.
  • Deliver care and support in a way which promotes customers’ independence, rights, choices and inclusion in their community
  • Summon professional assistance in the case of an emergency
  • Practice within the criteria set out in the Care Quality Commission regulations ensuring customers have an up-to-date person centred plan which reflects the needs and wishes of the customer is in place
  • Key-working (one-to-one) duties, as required
  • Maintain and develop professional relationships with customers
  • Ensure customers are respected at all times

Things to consider       

•Successful candidate subject to an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Services check, an Adult Barred List check as well as other regulatory checks required •Able to work evenings and weekends as necessary •Physically able to undertake moving and handling as required for the role •Driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use, for which a mileage allowance will be paid

 Working week    

  • Per rota/shift pattern - Saturday to Sunday        
  • Total hours per week: 35.00

 Training to be provided                                            

  • Healthcare Support worker standard
  • Maths and English if required
  • All in house training
