The UKSA is a registered charity and dedicated training establishment for a variety of water based activities. We offer a range of training for students seeking a career in the Watersports industry, through to school groups and day groups doing Sailing, Windsurfing, Paddlesports as well as full Multi Activity programmes.

We are currently seeking to recruit Senior Instructors and Instructors to add to our Watersports team of up to 50 Instructors for the 2018 season.

We are looking to fill positions starting from March to run with our season finishing end of September to end of October, depending on your availability.  

The job will involve, teaching a variety Watersports disciplines to a wide range of customers on our RYA Adult and Youth short courses, UKSA Schools and Groups taster sessions. There will also be some evening work involved in the role which will include activities such as orienteering, soft archery team games etc. The ideal candidate will have excellent inter-personal skills, be a strong team player have excellent motivation skills, enthusiasm and a passionate about their sport.

You will have the opportunity to develop your personal skills and add to your qualifications if you push yourself and prove that you are keen to develop. We run Instructor courses and endorsements all throughout the year, so this is a great opportunity to gain more qualifications.

Must have at least one of the following qualifications including First aid and a Valid Enhanced DBS check before starting employment:

  • RYA Dinghy instructor
  • Windsurf Instructor
  • UKCC Level 1 or above Kayak coach (in date & valid membership)

Desirable qualifications:

 

  • Keelboat, Multihull and Keelboat Endorsements
  • Powerboat Instructor
  • PWC Instructor
  • SUP Instructor
  • Full UK Driver’s License
  • Experience in land based activities such as team games, Sort Archery, Orienteering etc.

 

Salary: Minimum wage depending on age and experience - 48 hours over 6 days including weekends and some evenings.

Food and onsite accommodation can be supplied at a cost

Senior Watersports Instructor

As a Senior Instructors you will add experience and Guidance to our Watersports team in the height of season with the potential of the position extending through the winter.

This person needs excellent motivation skills, enthusiasm and a passionate about their sport.

The job involves, teaching a variety Watersports disciplines to a wide range of customers on our RYA Adult and Youth short courses; UKSA Schools and Groups taster sessions; and the long-term career Instructor training courses the UKSA offers. The ideal candidate will have excellent inter-personal skills, need to be a strong team player and have a proven ability to multi task.

You will have the opportunity to develop your personal skills and add to your qualifications if you push yourself. We run Instructor courses and Endorsements all throughout the year so this is a great opportunity to gain more qualifications.

Essential Qualifications and experience required including First aid and a Valid Enhanced DBS check before starting employment:

  • Candidates must hold a minimum of RYA Senior instructor in sailing or windsurfing.
  • At least 2 seasons proven experience working as a senior instructor  

Desirable qualifications and Experience:

 

  • Keelboat, Multihull and Keelboat Endorsements
  • Powerboat Instructor
  • SUP Instructor
  • PWC Instructor
  • BCU / UKCC Level 1 coach & above (in date & valid membership)

 

Salary: Up to £19,000 - 48 hours over 6 days with weekends and some evenings.
