Hours: 0.7 FTE per week (39 weeks, term time only)

The Isle of Wight Specialist Teacher Advisory (STA) Team is looking for an enthusiastic Teacher of Deaf Children and Young People (QTOD). The role is peripatetic and is to work with deaf children and young people (0-25 years) across the Island from September 2024. As part of the wider Education, Access and Inclusion Team you will support children and young people and their families in homes, early years settings, mainstream, special school and post 16 settings.

This is a rare opportunity to join a well-regarded, friendly and supportive specialist teacher team. Our team is person-centred, creative and committed to high quality communication and teaching across all modalities. You will be a Qualified Teacher of the Deaf or you will be a teacher willing and able to undertake mandatory training that will be fully funded.

This role involves a significant amount of travel by car, for which a mileage allowance is made, and you must be able to fulfil this requirement.

Relocation: For some vacancies (subject to criteria) a relocation scheme of up to £8,000 may be available if you are specifically relocating to the Isle of Wight to work with us, or if you choose to commute to the Isle of Wight daily, you may be eligible to have some travel costs reimbursed.
