We are currently recruiting for a FULL TIME STORE MANAGER in our Cowes store.

Are you an experienced and driven Manager who can lead our team?  Typically, you will possess significant experience within managerial roles, ideally in a retail environment and can demonstrate excellent customer service and a solid sales approach.  You will be proactive, punctual and professional with a determination to succeed.  You must be able to prove your success in delivering excellent levels of customer service, store standards and managing a team.

Confidence and enthusiasm are essential for this role along with a passion for retail and being an excellent team player.  Proficient experience of working towards KPI's is essential and above all, you must be passionate about the Brand.

About You - A genuine passion and knowledge of sailing and associated sports would be a great advantage.  Experience in working in retail for a comparable brand or competitor in a similar role is desirable.  A self-starter with the ability to work independently with a strong focus on delivery and hitting sales targets.

You will be delivering a VIP experience to all who enter Musto, that keep the customer coming back for more.  Offering everything from a warm welcome to friendly product advice, you'll talk people through the brand, identifying the products that is right for their needs.

Core Retail Management Duties

  • Optimise sales through effective customer sevice and selling techniques
  • Staff the store as efficiently as possible to minimise wage costs whilst still delivering effective customer service
  • Carry out continuous assessment and development of staff
  • Manage stock to minimise waste and damage and maximise availability by liaising with distribution and merchandising departments
  • Optimise conversion through effective merchandising and presentation of the store
  • Identify and own solutions for risks or improvement opportunities to the store or the wider business
  • Maintain outstanding hygiene, cleanliness and tidiness standards in the store
  • Manage health and safety for the store
  • Attend and contribute to company events and manage effective communication of company activity to the team
  • Manage all aspects of store security in accordance with company policy and procedure including staff, cash, stock, IT and buildings
  • Take additional responsibility as directed by the Head of Retail.  For example, covering other stores, acting as a training store, arranging group events, supporting new store launches etc
  • Report on performance as required
  • Take responsibility for personal development and actively seek opportunities for improvement

Customer Service

  • Training and leading the sales team by example
  • Maintaining expert knowledge of Musto products and promotional offers/events
  • Responding to customer complaints in a professional manner, attempting to resolve the concern if possible or escalate to Head Office if appropriate
  • Maintaining a clean and smart appearance at all times, paying close attention to personal grooming/hygiene and wearing appropriate Musto Apparel.

Person Specification

  • A good standard of literacy and numeracy skills
  • IT literate with a good understanding of Excel, Outlook and internet
  • Understanding store targets and the drivers behind them
  • Ability to coach and give feedback effectively
