This is essentially an executive sales role, working for a technical giant in their field. The Isle of Wight is famous for housing an amazing array of engineering industry leaders, creating innovative technology across a hugely diverse network, from aerospace to marine and shipping, our little Island has a huge impact on international markets and this company is embracing that fully with over 80% of their clients based overseas.

A need has arisen to focus on and drive forward their product reach, looking at new routes to market, potential new corporate clients, and of course finding the right person to engage with the right people, decision makers across the globe. 

This role is closely linked to a technical engineering team, and it would be ideal to have someone with a practical knowledge of mechanics, in order to engage with the client base. We do not need a mechanical engineer - but we want to find someone who does not shy away from the principles of mechanics, who will not feel intimidated by 'technical language' and who can apply practical logic to mechanical problems. 

KEY SKILLS: 

  • Proven track record in sales (achieving goals and identifying new business)
  • Technically minded (a technical sales background would be advantageous) 
  • Keen to travel the globe (we estimate jetting off at least twice a month) 
  • Seasoned travellers who are confident getting from A-B independently 
  • Ambitious with a clear focus on climbing the career ladder
  • Embraces new technology (particularly within a sales environment, remote pitching for example) 
  • Proactive and creative approach to business growth
  • Consultative sales approach, find the need and then find the solution
  • Keen to access further professional / academic development 
  • Exceptional communicator with articulate written and verbal skills
  • Team focused, this is not an independent sales role, it is a team effort
  • Keen to embrace management opportunities in the long term. 

This role is likely to suit an experienced sales professional from a technical background. We predict that the successful applicant will already have some elements of international travel in their previous roles (although this is not essential). It is vital that applicants are looking for challenge and growth as this role has incredible long-term prospects. 

A genuine interest in travel and culture would be beneficial to this role, as would any additional language skills. 

THE REWARD:

The rewards for the successful applicant are substantial. This employer is offering a highly competitive basic salary with additional performance bonuses with predictions that the OTE for this role are likely to be in excess of £50k (based on existing staff performance). 

The successful applicant will be guaranteed international travel, on a regular basis, from offices located right here on the Island. This means travelling the globe, and still enjoying all the benefits of Island life whilst back at base.
