Vacancy description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an individual who is passionate about Hospitality and would like to experience all areas of working within a busy Café. 

Duties will include:

  • Working behind the counter and clearing tables.
  • Dealing with customers
  • General cleaning
  • Assisting in the kitchen: preparing buffets and fresh food preparation and arranging desserts.
  • Barista - coffee making and other hot drinks service

You will be working in a small and experienced team who know their customers by name, the service provided is very personable.

To learn the business and to take on more responsibility, completing your intermediate apprenticeship and progressing onto your advanced apprenticeship.

Things to consider

Start and finish hours will be flexible. You will be part of the team and do all of the jobs that everyone else will do, including cleaning and keeping the work place clean and tidy. The Eatery is open 6 days a week and your hours could be across any of these 6 days. 30 hours is the minimum and there is the ability to work further hours. Please consider your travel arrangements and research public transport. The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
